Default Forward controls

Anyone running forward controls on there streetglide. I just cant seem to keep my feet on these boards, especially the right side. Been looking at the Accutronics set.

if they are in an uncomfortable position maybe changing the angles which can be done without purchasing anything aftermarket , jack it up and youll see there are additional holes for different angles. OR there are reposition brackets on the market. I do not have a link for you but a little search time on internet should pan out. OR maybe you just dont like floorboards. I've got two other softtails that i rotate on and when going from boards to forwards it throws me for a loop for a few stop an go's. Let us know what you run with as someone may have the same idea.

Are the floorboards too far of a reach for you, or are you too cramped with them. Most forward controls I've seen for baggers are designed to give the rider more room to stretch out. Jaybrake has a nice looking set of FL forward controls. They are less expensive than the Accutronix I believe.

I had a set of the Accutronix on my FLHT and took them off when I sold it, just in case I needed them on my Street Glide. Haven't needed to put them on so if you are interested in the Accutronix forward controls send me an e-mail. I have some arthritis in my hip and had trouble on the FLHT getting my foot on and off the board but with the forward controls it eliminated all of my pain. They worked good for me because they moved my feet out about 6 inches.

The Street Glide seat moved me back farther than the way I sat on the FLHT.

Soos, a forum member, sells a kit to move the boards out an inch. And, I just saw a thread on a kit that moves the boards forward 2". Ya might look into those, as they should cost a lot less. Unless you are just tired of the boards. As for me, I seldom have my feet on the boards. They are usually set up on my highway pegs. The only time they ever sit on the boards is when I am shifting, and sometimes when I apply the rear break.

EDIT: Here is the thread on the kit to move the boards forward 2". https://www.hdforums.com/m_2495461/tm.htmHope it helps.

Forward controls are no good for seriously aggressive riding, and long hauls are hard on the back.Used to love them, before riding style changed.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Rode a wide glide for 6 yrs. prior to the streetglide. I have the 3/4" extensions on now which helped but feet still will not stay in place. May try the angle adjustment in the up position since my feet seem to slide forward. I am only 5'8" and they feel to be in a comfortable position.
Sportshot if this doesn't work for me may give you shout on those controls.

Control location is a personal choice based on what's comfortable for you, just don't make the mistake of eliminating the other foot positions. You only use the controls for a small fraction of actuall riding time. I rode with a guy that had only forward controls, & long trips were very difficult for him without alternative foot/leg positions.
