Default Passing an emissions test

I hadabout decided to add SE A/C, PC III & either Rush or HD SE muffs to my 07 EG Classic, but there's one last hurdle to clear. I live in Tenn., and for the last 15-20 years cages have had to pass an emissions test each year to renew license tags. I've heard bikes may soon be required to do the same. If this were to happen, would an 07 equiped with a PC III be more likely to fail or pass an emissions test as compared to an 07 that had just a HD download? I understand the PC III will allow the bike to run richer than it would run with a DL.

Per EPA testing may start as soon as 2010 in some States - Depends on the State how they may modify it???
The PCIII you remove the O2 sensors - O2 sensors are a smog control device??? Who knows??? - With the Dealer doing a download they are required now to make adjustments to comply with EPA - which means they will adjust the system lean....

i'm thinking that if you had to go through emissions, if you had a pciii installed, you could bypass it, plug your 02 sensors in, have your bike tested, then plug the pciii back in and be good to go until next year. maybe?????? if one was worried about it running super lean, you could even reinstall your stock ac for a bit. am i off base here?

That's what I would do. Stock ac and bypass pcIII, pass test and put it back the way it was.

I wouldn't worry too much aboutemissions testing. They do emission testing here in Texas on cars but not bikes. I was told by an inspector that a car has to bein pretty bad shape not to pass. They're looking for crap vehiclesthat smoke all the time. If it's running good and doesn't burn oil, it should pass.

Same thing here. I just had an 02 Chevy tested with 88000 miles, no tuneups, no maintenance but oil changes. Its stock to be sure but reads like this. PPM CO allowed 443...Test value 008.

I would take it in as it is, then if it fails put it back to stock and get it retested.

i could bve wrong about this but i believe here in Pa if your car fails you can pay a bit more and still be legal. You know so long as there is money to be made so long as it doesn't smoke they will let you run the vehicle down the road.
as for bikes........ still don't figure why they would screw with a vehicle that has two cylinders and get 40 mpg........ hope it never materializes.

In pa if vehicle is less then a few years old or driven less the 5k a year there are some exceptions allowed. To confusing for me to explain(penndot website is confusing too)but they gave me some sort of break in both of these situations. Makes sense that bike would have to be runin like crap to fail,if and when they start testing.
