Default Swingarm options...

With recent talk about ride str8, cracking swingarms and poor design around the adjusters, I was wondering if anyone makes a full replacement swingarm package for the touring models (I have a 2000 RG) With a third attachment point, eccentric adjusters etc, preferably something in alloy, beefy looking...I'm across the Atlantic (Ireland) and perhaps not right up there with what's available.....

Thanks,
Mark

Do you have a link about the Ride Str8 and the cracking of the swingarms? I'd like to read up on this.

Get a copy of American Bagger, I think it was last months edition shows how to change the old style swing arm over to the new style swing arm and up grade the bushings. The new style swing arm is quite beefy compared to the old style.

I am sure you are reading it wrong. I believe all are different subjects. I believe the cracked swingarm is the 00 & 01. scrubby64 I believe you can clarify this.

As far as your question scrubby64 we are working on it using carbon fiber such as on our C/F frame seen in the LINK here. Make sure you click on the bottom for INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO R & R YOUR Than go to the bottom of that page for additional information. Make sure you read the new patent that HD just got on the 1st page.

We have a cheap patch fix & I can go local (because you are not) and procure a new HD swingarm for you and ship as a package. E-mail me at my site, not this one if interested. I own the same conversion myself on a 01 FL bike I have here with me. When @ my site, feel free to browse around. How do you guys ride with all of that beer way over there?

I would think that changing the pivot bushings for proper, greasable bearings would be a good thing.

Sta-Bo makes a kit that allows you to put an improved 02 and later swingarm on the earlier bikes.
