I had my 2006 Ultra checked at 38,000 miles and they said they were fine. The dealer would not check them as part of a service and charged me about two hours labor plus parts. Dealer say they will not go in with just a noise complaint. The cam chest has to grenade before they will fix it under warranty. However in 2005 another dealer changed out the entire cam chest on my 2003 when it had 40,000 miles on it under warranty and I just took it in for a service? So, in the long run it may depend on the dealer.

Cross your fingers that I can get back on it on Sat. Just been so busy, wouldn't be bad if I was making enough to take it to someone to do it for me, but I don't trust some people or shops.

Well, made some time and got something done this weekend. Ran into a snag, the inner bearing press tool doesn't line up with the hole in the case and I ruined a bearing. The cam door is back together just waiting on the inner bearing to be installed. I put the other bearing in with just the rod & bearing insert, that worked great.

It's Alive. Got it running today and changed oil, now if I didn't have anything to take with me to go work on another vehicle, I'd take the Harley. But since I can't load everything that I need into it, I will have to wait until Monday to ride it.

Going to ride the Ultra tomorrow, supposed to be 51. Needs a bath bad, it's so dusty. Can't wait.
