Default Auxilliary Lamps

Just been removing the rusty lamps from my 10 week old, pampered, 08 RKC which I will be taking into the dealer tomorrow (should be a laugh - rust! all do that sir) and tried to adjust them as they are a bit high - no joy! - looked for a nut to loosen but no, looks like a friction adjustment but feels like the lamp casing is going to dent first - Have I missed something - How do they adjust?

Another method is to loosen the bolts on the side of the upper forks which secure the whole light bar and windshield mount...

There is a small amount of play and you can get the whole bar (read: light beam for both lights) to move a small amountin the vertical if that is the aimingissue. Otherwise, you will need to get into the turn signal housing to move an individual light up/down. I've also found I can, with a firm twisting motion, get a single light to swivel without the need to open up the turn signal to access the nut. Obviously, don't bend anything. If it is that tight you will have to get inside.

I go through the up/down tweak twice a year as I install/remove the chrome wind deflectors whichuse the same bolts for their mount.

Thanks Guys - The light bar is already adjusted fully in the 'down' position so will have to go in via the turn signal - Ta.

Take a cheap 9/16" deep well socket, cut a 1/8" slot the legnth of the socket, and use this to loosen the bolt holding the light.

Rats - the Allens are A/F (obvious really but you try and get a set of them over the counter in Spain) - I've got an A/F adjustable wrench though...

if I may ask a question here. Ive been looking at adding the aux lights just wondering do you also have to change out the turn signals as well or can the stock ones be reused? when reading the description it says something about changing to a bullet style turn signal. thanks

You can reuse the stock ones and glad it did when I added Aux lights on my SG.

Dave - Can't help mate cos I have the standard unit with the light above the indicator as supplied on all current RKC's but by the sound of the hassle involved cutting up sockets (in a size I don't have) to adjust maybe you are better off without
