Could it have been FLITZ? It works well for this but as said, you are creating a maintenence nightmare for yourself.

That's why I went to the chrome kit, I liked the looks of the RoadGlide engine with the chrome, very clean and neat looking, since it's winter that might be a good project for someone to do, you could sent out the parts to have them chromed, I have a full set of stock parts that was replaced on mine if anyone is interested.

Ive polished out the derby cover on my wifes satin finish sportster, using a hand held electric grinder with a polishing wheel, and clay. You can find the clay and polishing wheel at your large home improvement stores, also Sears has a nice polishing kit, with bonnets and such. After you polish it out you need to seal the metal with a sealer or car wax to keep the luster longer lasting.
