The J&S is clearly superior, but I only use the yellow jack for bike cleaning, tires and wheels, and no other difficult tasks. I'm happy with the yellow jack and the savings. You'll get many opinions regarding this subject.
Where do you get the J&S?

thanks

I love that thing. Makes washing my bike a 15 minute job.

I was a cultured pearl diver for 35 years and i can tell you that no one here knows better than me that the sears red works just fine.

I've got a BlackJack Porta Lift....bet you've never heard of that one Picked it up directly from them in Sturgis in '97....needed a really good lift to get nearly 1,000 pounds of Royal Star off the ground, plus they had to fabricate special lift arms to catch the frame since too many parts on the YamaHog hung down below. The sucker is like a Sears jack, but way bigger with the lift arms wider apart. The 08 UC is rock solid when on it....me and the wife could even get on it and play "nasty biker chick" games whilst up in the air ifn we wanted to

I have the Sears yellow and like it but you sure need to be careful when letting it down, it has a friggin' hair trigger. Glad my wife insisted I get the yellow vs the red one, too - well worth the extra bucks IMHO.

This is my first bike jack and one of the few things I neverresearched on this forum. Probably saved me a few $$'s cause I never knew there were so many other great choices.

Steve L, thanks for the feedback. I agree that the J&S looks like the way to go. This is not something to save money on if the bike isn't safe. Thanks toeveryone for the assistance!!
