Default Installing the Windshield Bag

I loosened the outer fairing to install the windshield bag the other night. Question #1 what is that b.s. adhesive tape for and is it really necessary? Question #2 is it normal that there is a small gap between the side of the windshield and fairing. When I reinstalled the windshield I tightened it down but I think there is a small gap. I don't water getting in there.

I can't remember what the tape is for but i think it's scratches. I just looked at mine, no gaps here.

Sorry I could not be more help.

I know from experience that if you don't use the tape it will leave some ugly rub marks on your windshield!

Make sure your windshield is seated good over the studs that the screws go into, when you put it in wiggle it around and get it seated properly. Once seated you should be able to pull up on it and it not come out.

Devil dog has it right. I had the dealer install mine as part of the setup and delivery. [:@] BIG MISTAKE... apparently, the "tech" didn't see a need for it, and tossed it. Now there are ugly rub marks on the windshield.

Note to self... DON'T LET ANYBODY TOUCH THE BIKE... EVER!![:@]
