ARLEN NESS CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE...
So... being able to hobble around somewhat, I decide to jump in the cager andtake the hour and a half trip to Arlen Ness' to go shopping for my ailing '07 RG. I look around at all the gear... parts... and bikes... I finally decided not to go crazy and settled for a Big Sucker for my Glide. I go to the counter... $159.00 air cleaner w/filter... $113.00 chrome cover. I'm thinking $275 for a friggin' a/c... holy s***. I ask the dude, are you sure that's right?... isn't there one that comes as a complete kit?... Dude says no. I think about it for a minute... ponder ordering from the internet... decided since I made the trip, I'll just get the damn thing. They threw in a 5 dollar catalog for free and I was on my way.
I drive all the way back home...stop at the local pub to throw down a cold one before I change out the a/c. I started to gaze through the catalog and ran across the same part with the addition of a chrome backing plate and chrome billet cover for $70 less. [:@]...WTF... So I give them a call thinking I'm gonna ream someone's *******. I angrily explain my situation to the salesperson and he said he'd have a manager call me back.
A half hour later I get a call from the manager. Not only did he apologize for the mistake, he will refund my 70 bucks AND let me pick out a nice sweatshirt (60-70 buck value) for the heck of it.
Good customer service and I'll continue to shop there (albeit their extremely HIGH prices)... for the smaller stuff. Kudos to Arlen for taking care of a little thing like that. Just my rantthanks for listening.

RE: ARLEN NESS CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE...
Arlen Ness has a great business and has worked many years to build it. I think the reason he is so fair is that he remembers his working class roots and can identify with his customers. Unlike some of his competition who may be instant TV stars or wanna be thugs Arlen's success has not warped the man's perspective. He's just a good business man who loves motorcycles. He deserves his success. Just my two cents.
