Default Installing a CB in a streetglide

Who has installed a CB in a street glide? I see the list of parts in the HD catalog for 299.95. Anything else I will need to do the job? Well...actually I'm hoping my boyfriend will install it for me and save me some labor. Is it difficult to install for someone who is mechanically inclined...or is it a job for the dealer? I know there have been posts on this, but I was unable to locate them...so if you have a link to any posts having to do with installing the CB I'd appreciate it.

Before we bought the Ultra and my SG, we were using an autocom system to talk with each other. Since the Ultra already has a CB, I'm planning to sell the autocomm to help with the cost of the CB. Anyone interested in an autocomm communication system that was used once?

Thanks for any help...Melanie

I would go to jmcorp.com, they have a cb that mounts on the handlebars,if your bike already had intercom, it would be cheap to do.... the cb itself is a 1 hour job including r&r the fairing.... it is the tank mounted console the antenna and the trip parts that cost and take time.....

Thanks for all the info SoCal Pappy! You're right...the cost is pretty outrageous! I'll have to rethink the idea a little more.

Thanks Gene. I'm gonna look into the one by jmcorp. Originally I didn't want anything mounted on my handlebars, but that may be the way to go.
