Trade your Harley for a Victory. That's one of their selling points--being able to easily replace the belt. At least on the original ones.
Yea, a victory belt will probly outlast the rest of the bike Just buy a godwing and get a driveshaft.

Yeah, there's a shop in Florida that makes chain conversions for the 'Busa's and VMax's. Anything is possible with enough $$$$ !

Keep the belt. You say its not dependable...find out why. Is yours not alligned properly, loose, showing wear, or some other problem? I've dropped chains, replaced most with 6K to 10K miles, and done more chain maintenance than I would like. A belt is a huge improvement...50k on a belt is not unusual.

Hmm, the belt on my 88 FXRS lasted until the summer of 2006 when it finally gave up the ghost. I think the bike had somewhere around 60k miles on her by then. Not bad considering that the first 10 years of her life she spent in the garage of the original owner only racking up 12k miles.

BELT DRIVE IS NOT DEPENDABLE. THE OLD TOURING BIKES HAD A CHAIN FOR THE FINAL DRIVE. I KNOW IT MAKES NOISE, BUT IT IS EASY TO CHANGE THE CHAIN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND STONE DAMAGE DOES NOT HAPPEN. I WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE MY 2006 EG CLASSIC TO CHAIN DRIVE. DOES ANYONE KNOW WERE I CAN GET THE PARTS TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN?
Just curious... is there anything else you'd like to be wrong about today?
