My A$$ can't take that many miles all at once and I don't consider me an old fart. I like stopping after about 150-175 to fill up, and a quick stretch. With 6 gal I'm assuming about 240-250 mileson a tank full at 70mph

RWD makes a 6 gallon tank for touring bikes. You'll need their seat too or have a custom seat made. I'm using one of the tanks for a custom bagger I'm building. Quality is great, cost about $1000. Body work is minimal. Paint for mine (black with a custom logo airbrushed was $1200 and included the body work). Body cost was probably about $300 worth of the paint job. The console that comes with the tank needs to be chromed, $125.00. A 1/8 in NPT fuel crossover hose is required, about $95.00. Custom gas cap from Drag specialties, $35.00. Stock fuel pump fits fine. Seat, $400 (it's ok for the rider, not good for a passenger). I had a seat modified for mine, came out to $600 total. Total, $3005 (parts only). you do the work....

There is a guy who does all the local bike shows. He has a nice heritage, decked out with a total skull theme. He has a 7 gal. tank on his bike. It isn't stretched, either. Just really fat. Heck, I like it, a lot. Being a fat guy, I am always looking to make my bike more fat. I asked him where he bought it, and he told me he couldn't remember the name of the guy. Oh well, it sure does look sweet. IMO.
