Default 2% and 4% Gear Keys

Converting the bike to geared cams. So what's the purpose of using 2% and 4% gear keys -- something to do with ignition timing I suppose? Is this something I need to do when I install my 26G's? Help guys.

The +2 and +4 degree keys change your cam timing , moving the rpm they come on at by roughly 200/400 rpmat the sacrifice of top end.

With cams biased more towards the upper end this can help move the torque band down. With a 26 , it already comes on low , so I don't think it would be a wise choice.

I definitely would not want my 26G's to come on earlier and go out earlier. If a guy wanted that kind of RPM range, he might as well put in the 21G's.

That's exactly what I needed to know. I hadn't even heard about them until last night, so just wanted to be sure I was getting all my parts together before I get started. Sure would hate to do this and send the tools back only to find I should have done something else!

Thanks again, fellers.
