RE: Ordering IDS from Zanotti?
Ordered from Zanotti online without the bearing pressed.
Installed it last weekend in an 1 1/2 hr. Threw the bearing in a ziplock in the freezer for 45 minutes, and the sprocket in the oven on 200* for 1/2 hr. Put a block of wood under the hub and tapped bearing in with a mallet. Went right in and bottomed out.
If you want them to press, you have to call.

Istallation of the IDS is the best $'s you will spend on your bike.

I keep reading the comments about IDS being the best bang for the dollar. Therefore had the local HD dealer install on Thursday. Put over 200 miles on Friday (rain & cold) and for the life of me, didn't notice any difference. What can I say...

Questor
I'm very surprised. My '07 Ultra is 14 months old. I spent 13 of those 14 months working my way thru the whine in 5th gear and to me what appeared to be a requirement to keep this motor in 5th and 6th gear above 2500rpms. That's a problem when you ride alot of secondary roads like I do in S.E. PA. I was spending what I found to be an inordinate amount of miles in 4th gear. Changing to 75w140 gear oil reduced the whine. Adding IDS eliminated the whine (at least with my hearing) and allows 5th and 6th to run at 2000rpms as smooth as can be. Now the gear ranges match up to what I need and what I was used to in my '99TC.
Now and only now have I decided to keep it...at least for a "few" years. Sorry you're dissappointed.

Questor, In my humble opinion the only way for an IDS to be installed and the improvement not to be noticeable on an 07 bagger, would be if the dealer did the install improperly. I have a SE 110 SE Ultra and could tell the difference the first time I let the clutch out, really removed power pulses between 2200 and 2500 rpms smooth as glass.
