I just spoke to the service manager. He wants to send a driver out to pickup the bike and when it gets in the shop put it on a dyno and run it till it gets hot. Turn it off and leave it set in the closed up area of the dyno and see what happens. I don't mind doing the dyno testing part but not sure I want to have the bike loaded up in a truck when I can ride it out there.
I ask him about it just being hot and getting the gas in the tank hot and venting the fumes but he says its a closed system and shouldn't do that. If my bikes the only one doing it, must be something wrong. I dont run it that hard and its not that hot riding it or I wouldn't be able to stand riding it for 1-2 hours at a stretch.
Any thoughts about any of this?

Got an 07 Ultra and no gas smell. I pull it right in after I ride and close the garage door. Never had an issue....

My dealer offers free pickup and delivery of my bike for any service. They use a covered trailer, but like you I've always told them I woul rather ride my bike in....I just don't like the thought of what could happen just from loading and tying down in a trailer. Besides, I've always been a little allergic to trailering.[:'(]

I read in another thread that someone was missing a rubber o ring inside the connector for the gas line or or in the connector. I can't remember which one it was but the bike was put together without a certain oring and that caused the smell. Do a searcg on the subject and you might find what I am talking about. There are tons of threads on this subject and no it should not smell like gas.
