Default New HD center stand

Local stealership having a 25% discount the day after Turkey Day. Was looking at maybe getting the new center stand that mounts in front of the rear wheel. Anybody have any experience with it? Does it tuck away out of sight and give no cornering clearance problems or dragging? How does it look when tucked away.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanxs

It does tuck under out of the way and is not as easily seen as the other stand. It does not reduce conering room.

A centerstand on a modern Harley!!!!! ??????? YUCK!

It must be they want them to appeal more to the Euro buyers.

Besides that,I wanna seeyour typical geriatric bagger rider lift on up on a center stand.

If it was a Goldwing, I wouldn't be shocked at the idea. It would fit in with their air bag....AND it would probably be pushbutton operated.

My RK Classic is looking more like a real motorcycle everyday thanks to Goldwings with airbagsand Ultras with ABS.

I liked that kind of stand back in the year when I had a Triumph. You could just put it in gear, rock back on the seat and you were lauched. Sure would be easy to clean the back wheel. What do they cost?

I liked the idea of a centerstand on a Harley quite a bit. I actually bought one but haven't had the down time to get it installed. Makes it easier to clean tires, if you adjust it properly and also check the rear tire pressure without messing with the saddlebag.

I figure in a rally type situation your gonna end up with a bit more room than having the bike slanted and worrying about someone banging into it.

to the original OP , it is the new version by the way.

I just installed a Rivco, lifts the rear wheel up about and inch andmakes cleaning the tire or looking for a hole to plug much easier! I like the center stand on my Road Glide, my shovelhead Super Glide is fine with just the side stand though. I can do mine like that too sit on and just rock it once and it's down I'm going No cornering problems yet, and can't really see it once it's up, about 15 min. to install very easy

Yeah, yeah, yeah, blah, blah, blah....

Meanwhile some of us (American, non-Euro buyers, thank you very much) *would* like a center stand to make certain maintenance tasks easier.

And anyone can put a bike up on the center stand; it's easy if you actually know what you're doing. Just like everything else, there's the right way using the right technique, and about a b'zillion wrong ways. Like, ya know, actually TURNING on a Harley at more than 20mph.

I am considering one of those. Seems it would make checking air pressure, plugging much easier. Also the bike would take up less room in the garage.

Would like to see one installed before I plunk down the $300.

Anybody who already has one, is it as easy as they say to get the bike up??

Would the installation interfere with the use of a lift such as a J&S?
