Does anybody have a Lil Joes oran HA leather vest http://liljoesleather.com/ ( the company used to be called HA Leathers and recently changed their name to lil joes legendary leathers) If so, whichvestdo you have ( joes original vest,original bay area vest, etc.)andwhat do you think of the vest? I am thinking about getting one - but they are pretty expensive and I just want to get some inputfrom someone that has one.Any pics of the vest and you wearing would be great asIhave only seen it on the netand have not been able to try one on.

I've been wearing the HA vest for about 4 - 5 years now; after a few rainstorms it's got a contoured fit and feels like body armour. I cherish it...as with most things in life; you'll get what you pay for.

I've got 2, one leather and one denim. Used to be a dealer for them. Great product except their prices go up, then down. One week they are $269 next week they are $249. Right now they are $249. Overall, it is my favorite vest. I wear an XL t shirt and wear an XL vest. The vest bottom comes right to your waist, just like a jean jacket. If you are tall, they do offer a 3" longer version. I highly reccommend the product.

I was on their site yesterday, they are offering a new version of the vest with hand pockets, that vest retails for $319.00. Pretty pricy.

Not really a reply as such, but is the establishment still in business? I bought a pair of leather pants that had to be returned for repair
(they tout their lifetime warranty). I called several months ago and was instructed to send a check to cover shipping (12.50) and send the pants back. After six weeks I finally got someone to answer the phone and was told to expect the return in mid-Feb. Toward the end of February I started emailing and phoning for status. No answer. Sitting here in March 18 and I still don't know if a new item or a repaired item will ever be sent back to me.

 

If you carry a concealed weapon while riding, I would highly recommend the "original leather vest" from Ray's Holsters http://www.shado.com/. The vest isn't very expensive, fits like a glove and looks much more expensive than it is. Also, since it's designed for concealed carry, it has nice roomy gun pockets with retention straps sewn in and it's a little longer than most other vests I've tried.
