old batwing on a RK
Hi, has anyone mounted an older batwing fairing to RK quick connect set-up using the windshield hardware from a classic? I am looking for an anturnitve to the lexan shield and have always liked the batwing look. I dont need a radio or any of that crap in the fairings I have seen for over $1000, just a quick conect batwing. Thanks In advance Scott

RE: old batwing on a RK
I have done it with a bat wing fairing right onto an existing RK windshield. Bought a extra windshield online. Got a take off bat wing from the dealer for next to nothing and with a little trimming on the bat wing and it only took three "T" nuts to bolt it on. Can't seem to be able to post picks. Email me for photos.

These guys have one used in good condition. I believe it was in the $250 range. Isanti Performance Cycle,(763) 444-7599, if you call talk to Pat. I took pics cuz I was going to buy it for a project. I believe it
mounts to a quick disconnect windshield.

Yep... replaced the windshield with it. Used a set of original mounts and cut them the same as the RK quick mounts sot ey worked the same. Works fine. Later on I found a Radio Caddy insert from the early 80s, mounted it inside also and now have the whole thing for under 300. Makes it easy to take on and off with a trailer 4 pin flat plug under there for the power. I used some rubber trim like you see on car doors around the headlight cutout to protect the head light nacelle.
