Default Oregon Coast 101

Jumped on the bike for a ride down the Columbia River to Astoria and then south on 101 to Lincoln City. What a beautiful ride. Anyone who has done it will attest to that.Ran into some riders from Portland and ended up making the ride back with them. Took the road from Astoria up through Vernonia and Mist. An unforgetable road. Did 300 miles round trip.

My wife and I are finding just how much fun it is to just take off and ride. We are meeting new people and seeing parts of the country close to home that we've never seen before.

We may be crazy to do it but we've decided to take off the Friday after Thanksgiving for Yuma, Arizona and return the following Friday. We know it will be cold and we may even see some snow but we are determined to do it. If anyone wants to tag along for part or all of the trip south just let me know. We'd love to have comany.

Right on Steve. I've ridden those roads countless times. 101 is great in our neck of the country. The best stretch to me is just south of Lincoln City to Florence. Next time you go, stop in Pacific City (just north of Lincoln City a little west of 101) for lunch at the Pelican Brew Pub. Cool place and right on the beach. You can watch the Dory boats come in.

Your in my stomping grounds my friend, I surf Pacific city and Shorties all the time, the Oregon
coast is one beautifull place to ride, hard to keep the eyes on the road, there is a scenic hwy.
that runs from Tillamook to Pacific city that has some nice out of the way state parks to hang at.

I've done that road too. My Dad and I take a Father's Day ride every year. Last year we "Road the Capes" and had lunch at The Pelican.

My stompin' grounds too, ride those roads all the time. we live over by Spirit Mtn Casino and there are some amazing back roads between here and Pacific City/Neskowin/Tilimook. Our friends are fish heads with dory boats so we are at PC probably 2-3 times a week through the spring and summer. There is a road just south of Neskowin called "Old Scenic 101" It is only about 12-15 miles but it's like an area that time forgot, comes out about 5 miles east of Lincoln City. Great riding country around here!

Is "Old Scenic 101" the one that comes out in Otis?

I too have enjoyed that stretch of road, and many others in the state as well.

Las Vegas is home, so give me a holler when you're down south our way.

If the trip goes as planned, We should be in Vegas the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We plan on spending the night and seeing some of the sites before heading down to Yuma.

PM me your number and we'll give you some warning before we hit town.
