Do a google search for saddlebag secure from Brukus. 20 bucks for 4 bolts, 4 washers, 4 threaded u clips and the special wrench to install em. IMHO its WELL worth the 20 bucks to save a few hundred bucks replacing the bags. They sell a set up for the seat also. Hope this helps you. Stay safe and keep the shiney side up.

Sad to say, but I work in the security/safety business so I know. Castle doctrine or no, you shoot someone who ain't trying to kill you and you'll never own anything ever again, no matter how legal the shoot was. Your lawyer will own all your stuff. Probably cost you $50-60k by the time they decide you did good. Will cost your freedom if they decide you didn't.

Use the insurance.

I forgot to say, always keep your insurance up to date as if someone really wants something, they will get it. I find it more likely they will steal the whole bike than just the bags.
