I stopped mine from doing that by taking a Ty-rap and securing the wire to the mike boom. If you just curve the wire to the back it will look good and problem solved.

You can also stretch the cord out and wrap it around the helmet when storing it between rides. Then the cord won't pull on your head or pull out as easily.

I guess this is one time that not being tall is a benefit. I get a lot of slack in the headset cord!
