I am thinking of putting a headlight modulator on my wish list. The Kirsan model runs about $100. Does anyone have any experiance or opinions on the models which are selling on E-Bay for abot $50 and claim to do the same thing? Thanks
I bought a Kisan with the recommendation of Texasredneck, it works very well. It Is item # P115W for my 06 Ultra. I bought it directly from them Kisan technologies.com Good people do deal with. Dan
I got the e-bay one, was easy plug-n-play install, used it for about 8 months, about 4500 miles and no problem. I certainly think the modulating headlight makes a big difference.
I went with Kissan. I bought 3, so I got a nice discount - less than $100 each. Performed flawlessly for a year and a half and I haven't had ONE person turn left in front of me since I put it on.
Gimme a link ta the eBay one yer lookin' at....some of 'em may be okay, but most use cheapo components. Ah've run Kisan since right after they came out. Like yerself, ah tried a cheaper alternative first - lasted 'bout 15k miles. Ah've run Kisan's since, an' have never had a failure.
I've had the Kisan modulator for 4-5 years and it's still working. Mine's the older model that has only three sensitivity options (off, low, and high), changed by switching high to low beam 3x in one second, while the newer ones have more. The only negative is that occasionally it will switch to another setting after starting the bike, and Kisan says the fix is to start the bike while on low-beam when the Pathblazer isn't working. I just keep it on high-beam and live with it. In the period of time I've had it installed, which represents probably 50k miles, I haven't had one cager pull out in front of me--although I certainly don't take that for granted. FWIW, I also have an 85/100w bulb installed, which helps.
