Ultra Street Glide

Ultra Street Glide
I finally got the electrical connector parts in this week and finish putting the street glide rear fascia on my ultra. I didn't get to lower the rear yet, as the lowering kit I ordered didn't fit with the IDS rear sprocket. So I'll have yet to return it and find one that will work. If anyone has put a lowering kit on their ultra with the IDS please post who's you have used.
I kept the stock turnsignals and the wrap around crash bars of the ultra. I drilled holes in the street glide fascia and added rubber grommets to finish off the holes for the crash bars. I also added the running light/brake light kit for the turnsignals and used the street glide upgraded tri-light which turns it into a brake light as well.

RE: Ultra Street Glide
The street glide uses the tour pack lighting connector. If you have an ultra, the connector isin the forward left hand corner tour pack under tour pack liner. If you have the street glide, it uses this same connector, but is located under the seat. So rather than splice into the wiring, I made a y that connects them together.
These are the connect parts I used:
(1) 73103-96B Pin Housing 3-place
(3) 73190-96 Pin Terminal
(2) 73153-96B Socket Housing 3-place
(6) 73191-96 Terminal Socket
The fender, I got lucky with, there was a black pearl take off from a street glide that someone was turning into a trike. The ultra fender will not work, you'll end up with 3 holes at the bottom edge. Which if you made a custom lisence plate mount you may be able to hide them. The street glide or road glide fender will work. If you go with the road glide you'll have to drill holes in the sides to mount the rear facsia.

I’m installing the detachable tour pak. I’m removing the bag guards and want the street glide look when I remove the tour pak. I would install the street glide rear light and turn singles. I wanted to make sure the fender would attach to the same mounting points. I’m installing the hidden am/fm antenna in the fairing and I’ve never used my CB or intercom so they will go under my seat. So I guess my question is will the street glide fender just bolt right up and I only need to adapt the wiring?

RE: Ultra Street Glide
The street glide rear fender will bolt up exactly in place of the ultra fender, it's pretty straight forward. I would recommend getting the HD touring service manual, and parts catalog. The manual will help withany mod's and the parts cataloghas great exploded views with part numbers. It helps in determining what parts can interchange. One thing I would recommend buying is the rubber wiring conduit that runs under the fender. I cut open the old conduitto getmy fender wiring out. Then I cut the new conduit down the center of the adhesive tape to get the wiring through it and then stuck it closed when I placed it on the new fender.
If you want to go back and forth between the tour pack. I can't comment on the unpluging the wiring to the tour pack. There have been posts on this forum in reference to that. I do know that if you want to run both the tour pack lights and street glide fascia lights you will either have to splice into the wiring harness or make some type of y connectors.
