Just got home and warming up a bit--rode the bike to Kevin's--27 miles each wayand it's about 37* air temp here in Metro Atlanta tonight. Yeah, I called Phil on the cell phone from Kevin's garage and put the phone about a foot from the Rinehart--shoot, maybe it will become a tradition.
Kevin's 02bungs on the head pipes (about 6" from the ports) worked great when he hooked up the Twin Scan II+ to monitor a/f. The HD 113" 2-1 pipe base map was extremely lean so Kevin used his SERT to richen the a/f. He did a couple of heat cycles, carefully inspecting/listening with stethoscope, etc. Honestly, the engine noise on my 88 is louder than his 113. I was glad I was there.
Thanks for the props on the pics and write-up--it's been a learning experience for me since I'll turn the wrenches on my own build--and let Kevin take the pics. And I'll let y'all know when Kevin has the video edited and completed--it should be a real aid to guys like me who"can work on a lawn mower" (quoting PhilM) and read a Service Manual.
So who's up next?--Rob (hotpursuit)????
