hey what is that wire/connector hanging behind the air fliter housing??

If it's a two prong harness with a cover, it's probably your connection to your battery for a battery tender. Mine is located above the transmission in front of the right side panel cover.

Once I figure out all these strange electrical connections I dont need, they are history and the wires too.

It's the connector for the active air filter used on international bikes, unused on USA models.
