Anyone know if the oil temp dipstick is accurate or is that a waste too? Also, I gotta feeling If I buy it, it will walk off one daywhile the bike is parked. (The stick for a 08 Ultraalthough I think they are the same.)

The air temp gage is just stupid but heck it balanced out the arrangement. (grin grin). Had a dipstick temp gage on the 78FX lowrider years ago. Tossed it after awhilebecause of the brain f.... showed up way to much. Otherwords, one tended to look at the temp way to much and the brain f.... caused way to much worry over normal temp ranges. But what ever, will put the oil temp gage on the xmas wish list; figure why not have a gage that actually may mean something other the windage temp. I am sure the brain f.... will start again. (grin grin) Will tap in to the bottom of the oil tank, then run the wire along the frame, into the cowling or not....lol.

Radio Shack has this one.
I bought this one yesterday for $30. Works fine, guaranteed 2% or 2°C accuracy across its range.

Did a head-temp check at the spark-plug bases when bike was heated up (80° ambient, oil temp 185°) and got a reading of 250°F, 325°R. Does this jibe with everyone else who's checked it? Sounds about right to me.
