Default 08 Hand Grips

Taking delivery of an 08 FLHTCU Ann. model tomorrow - looking to replace the hand grips with ones that are a little bigger in diameter - any suggestions? I believe the 08's will take a "special" grip due to the fly by wire throttle.

Harley's got like 6 versions out now and I just emailed Kurryakyn and they are working on new ones. They said the new grips would be in there March 2008 catalog.

I put a slightly larger set on my 08 Ultra, but don't have the part number as the dealer had a special smaller catalog with some of the accessories specifically for the Ultra. The ones I got are mostly a black rubber, but both ends are chromed (the inside end that connects under the throttle housing and the outside end). They aren't quite as big as the grips I had on my Dyna, but better than stock and available now. I believe they are 1.5 inch diameter.

I saw those on a 08 Street Glide at the dealer tonight. As I was picking up my Oil Temp gauge.
They look nice. Especially with all chrome handlebar controls.
Sure will be nice when they come out with more.

I am going to hold off until the MOCO comes out with the Aileron grips for the 08' touring models. I have them on my Deuce, and like them a lot. I just have to figure out if I want the heated ones or not. I know that is the direction I am going though, and have already added the Aileron shifter peg. I also have to figure out what to do with the floor boards. Cant wait until the 08' MC show gets to NYC!

Anyone know what is involved due to the throttle sensor when changing the grips on the 08's?

I had one of the sets that Harley currently available installed, I hate them they feel cheap and look cheap! I am hopping someone comes out with a set of Billet Grips quickly so I can get them off...............
