Not sure ah understand the question, then....personally, ah'd go ta synthetic @ the 1k mark - no need ta change at the 500 mile unless yer manual says otherwise.

 

Any good quality oil will work, there's no MAGIC oils out there as some think. Personally I like the Mobil 1 oil line and it is available at many partsstores , some oils you have to order and wait plus if you are on the road you can find the popular brands should you need some. They have products for the engine, trans and I use HD formula + in the primary.

Is the bike new or rebuilt engine?
after 500 miles no reason not to go to synthetic if you want.
Otherwise you can't go wrong with Valvoline 20w50
or use their semi-synthetic durablend. It will ix with any
oil dino or full syn.
