Geez man. Think about it. Does your 3/8 drive torque wrench even do INCH pounds. I doubt it. It does FOOT pounds. Snug the damn thing up and call it good.
I have a Craftsman 3/8 drive INCH pound torque wrench. They're certainly not unusual.
Sorry, My 3/8 is ft/lb. I have an 1/4 drive in/lb wrench. Didn't mean to be an AH.

Inch/pound torque wrenches are available in both 3/8 and 1/4 drive.

I have a Sears Craftsman in/lb with 3/8 drive used mostly for scope rings and trigger guard screws on precision rifles.

You can get a higher quality one at Brownell's.

Or you can buy one of the LCD read out models that either Snap-On, Matco, MAC, Craftsman sells.....they usually are switchable between inch/pounds and foot/pounds. I also think Matco has a set of torque wrenches that comes with two one 3/8 and one 1/4 inch.
Whatever.....I forgot what we were talking about now.

You can use an adapter to switch from a 1/4" drive to a 3/8" drive or visa-versa. But if you change the length of the torque wrench...eg.by using a open end crowfoot, then you have to recalculate for the correctin. or ft.lbs.. Unless you can keep it at a 90 degree angle to the torque wrench.

But I'm sure you let them know they had a scanner error and forked over the extra $2.48.
