Dude,
Itraded in an 03 NON Standard standard and got the 08 Ultra (I know not an 07) But rode an 07 for 2500 miles before I decided on the 08. Theres not a humongus diff between 07 & 08 (except for those sweet Brembos and the extra sweet ABS) BUT theres and huge difference between the 03 Electra Glide and the 07. DO the 07 you'll be glad ya did

 

Done deal! Here's my new ride.....thanks for everyone's input. Lacks the punch of a GL1800 or a K1200LT in higher gears, but is is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BIKE I have ever owned. I had the oil cooler installed before I left, and they downloaded some program recommended by Harley to reduce heating at idle when stopped. What it may lack in refinement, it more than makes up in "character" and "style" And yes, it did get hot when I encountered an accident on the freeway and was stop and go for 10 minutes. The heat seemed to come up through the seat. I may have to get asbestos underwear. But what the hell! This is a fun ride!! Thanks again for all of the great feedback

Congratulations...great looking bike. Two mods that significantly improved my 07 Ultra are the SERT and the IDS. Possibly you won't need either. Enjoy your ride and WELCOME to the Harley family.

 

You will enjoy either one. If you can swing the 07, go for it.

I love my 07 and don't have the clatter issues. Of course I ride race quads and they can clatter too in the wrong gear, so I always ride in the higher rpm's. Also I do have a wine in 5th, but I like it because I know what gear I'm in. My 07 is the best thing my money could ever buy. Hands down
