How loud would the super trapp's be compared to the V&H ovals? I'am looking for some mufflers for my new road glide and would like to keep it fairly quiet, but free enough breathing for some motor work.
I first came in to contact with the ST's where I bought my bike. They had done a 103 stage2 kit on an07 SG and used the ST's The guy who does their performance work said he used the ST's because they are the closest thing to a 2 into 1 as far as performance goes. And they sound great. Joe Minton who works for American Rider magazine speaks well of the ST's also. You sound like someone who would really like the ST's. Don't know how it might sound over the phone but I could fire it uo for you over the phone if you like. Just let me know.

I agree with Gary. The Ovals I had on the RK were a little brutal on the slab. The STs have a nice, deep sound, without blasting your ears. Bagger Magazine did a review on several slip-ons a few months ago, and the STs had the best torque curves of those tested, as I recall.

I might mention that I am a big fan of V&H. Have had their pipes on several bikes. Have their headers right now on my RKC. I intended to buy the ovals for my new SG but two things changed my mind. I lstened to the ovals a guy had and I just didn't quite like the sound as much as I thought I would. Plus I am a detail freak and it looks like a bit of work to keep the inside of the ovals clean. Secondly, as I've already mentioned I knew the ST's was right for me when the dealer fired their Demo bike up with the ST's.

These super trapp's sound like what I'm looking for. I've had every exhaust system under the sun and at the end of the day it's just plain noise. I would like to keep the stock header pipes because you can always stick the stock mufflers back on if you have to in case of a run in with noise police.

Mine came from Fuel Moto. Got them in Va. in three days. $299 mufflers, $49X2 for end caps and $18 shipping. Another forum member tipped me off to Fuel Moto. They saved me about $80.

Talk to Jamie at FuelMoto -- he can help you fine tune your specific set-up.

Has anyonecomparedthe Supertrapp SEs to that of the prior 07Screamn' Eagle (2 piece/off road) Touring Performnace Mufflers, which were discontinued by Harley? I don't know how true it is, but someonetold me that the onlydifference between the two is the logo.

That's correct -- ST built the earlier Harley SE mufflers. HD had to quit selling them due to all the EPA crap.

Gary,I think you have helped me. I just picked up my '08 Street Glide and have been thinking about these. I have not heard them, but from what you have said they sound like they will be perfect and Supertrapp is known for very credible products.

I had V&H Ovals on my '07 EGC, but agree with others that they get alittle loud after awhile. Excellent fit and finish, but borderline too much, maybe I am just growing up?

Are you running any fuel or a/c modifications? I would like to put these on and just ride my bike. I do not plan on adjusting either the fuel or a/c. I am sure that will stir a debate about a/c and fuel management systems.

I think that these pipes look like the way to go. Different end caps, blue proof, and from what you guys have said the sound is right there too.

Thanks,

Brett
