RE: IDS Installed
I agree that the 2007's should be run in the higher RPM's and I've posted that previously. The touring bikes love to run in the higher rpm ranges and that is where the torque curve of this 96 motor is. However the first thing I noticed is how much smoother taking off from dead stops are now. I don't have to slip the clutch as much as before. I alsofeel running in 6th gear is now usable at 65 vs above 70, it felt pretty good this morning, but I'll have to put more miles on to be sure. I'm also not sure how much the SE air cleaner and SERT map add to all of this, I'm sure adding more fuel and breathing have some affect on pulling power at lower rpm's.

FWIW. My 1965 Honda 50 had this same technology. Prior to 2007 HD had a spring loaded compensator sprocket and then eliminated it to "improve" their new bikes. Doesn't surprise me they now have an "upgrade" kit available. My 2007 Dyna could probablybenefit from this as my left mirror stays blurry up until about 85 MPH. For those of you with the earlier bikes the best upgrade I have done is the easy pull clutch and the improvement is in the control over engagement. I no longer hear the compensator ratcheting back when I let the clutch out. BTW my 2005 FLTR is glass smooth otherwise and the transmission shifts like butter. My 07 clunks going into third like an old ford flathead.
