Default Paint condition

Does anyone have problems with their paint scratching easy? I'm carefull to use either a micro fiber cloth, always rinse the bike off and never dry wash the bike. It's a black Ultra and I'm already going to have to go over her with a buffer. The finish in my opinon is dull?

I would go out and get a good polish, polish the bike till it shines better than new , then apply a protective like teflon or a synthetic, should be good to go for a whole season...spend the money to buy quality, maybe at a paint supplier....

The detailing section of HDF is outstanding.....it's worth looking around in there for a while.Pay extra attention to 3Dog's posts,he knows his stuff.

Had Vivid black on my Nightrain.....

3Dog say's 90 percent of swirls etc happen from improper technique while a bikes being cleaned.

I'll do that, It's not that I don't know how.....we do a ton of custom paint work. It just doesn't seem like the HD paint has any depth to it. I can't count the numbers of time it's been waxed.

Perhaps it has too much wax! A Wax buid up! My Ultra is also Vivid Black and a beauty... Deep shine but I never use wax on it.. I use Zaino Polish... and that stuff works great for me..

In the past on other bikes and cars I have used all types of waxes and for the most part they do a pretty fair job but have a tendency of looking milkey on a black finish. At least in my opnion..

Polish seems thinner and harder to me.
