I don't know about Metzeler, but I will be ordering an Elite 3 from AMT soon. By far the best price I've found on them, and shipping is very reasonable.

Consider: www.swmototires.com

Free shipping when you buy two tires.

Iclick, do you know if I could run an Elite 3 with a 402 on the front? My front's not bad but rear is about shot.

Thanks everyone for the input. I priced ME880's at all places listed and AMT had the lowest prices, including shipping and handling. Looks like I'll be ordering from them unless I decide on some Elite 3's.

Check out RonAyers.com. I bought 3 tires from them this summer. Very competitive on prices. Flat $12 shipping per tire. Very quick to respond. To top it off, we were in Maggie Valley earlier this month and ran into some folks staying at our motel that work there. The one fella we talked to seemed like a real nice guy.

On the Metzler 880's just make sure you get the ones that were made in Germany and NOT Brizil....IIRC there was a thread here that talked about a problem with the non German produced tires.....personally I think the tire failures in question in that thread were under inflated, and run like that at highway speeds for long periods on hot days.....just my .02

How would I check to see where they're made? Maybe Dunlop E3's are the way to go after all.
