Default ElectraGlide outter fairing?

Just curious, how long does it take to remove the outter fairing to check for the cracked brakets everyone is talking about? I also might be putting on Street Glide mirriors. I know that you need a torx driver but what else...............?

5,10 minutes, take out 3 w/shield bolts, lift out w/shield, then two screws on each side if I rembember right, cover front fender with towel and lift it off. If you want to unplug headlight it has two tabs on the plug you squeze to get it to release.

Quick job also gives you a chance to learn the basic wire set up behind fairing.

Excellent post. I am going to be replacing my fairing soon and it didn't look to be difficult at all. This just confirms it. Thanks

dont forget to slip a couple socks over the driving lights if you have them,it will also protect from scratches ,like the towel on the fender

An easy way to tell if a fairing bracket is broken without removing the outer fairing is to grasp the grip with one hand and push forward on the edge of the outer fairing. A broken fairing bracket will allow the fairing to move noticeably; an unbroken bracket will allow only nominal movement. Repeat for the otherside.
