Easyrider

If you are mostly after a richer sound and a decent bit of extrapower (say, a gain of 5 - 10 hp), the cheapest option is the V&H Oval slip-ons, the Screamin Eagle Air Cleaner, and then you need some software to richen up the air/fuel ratio, as the stock bike runs very lean, and increasing the airflow through higher performance air cleaner and pipes will make it run even leaner. Get it on a very cold or hot day, and it will ping, pop, burble and possible pre-detonate. A good solution is either the Vance & Hines Fuelpak or the Dynojet Power Commander. Email Jamie at www.fuelmotousa.com for assistance on the Power Commander - I'm not certain, but I think he'll ship you the products you need along with the correct map for your bike.

I am in no way affiliated with any of these products and I can't make any assertions about how well they perform, but plenty of people have received very good results for very reasonable pricing.

Good luck - and enjoy the "new" scoot with the real Harley sound!! [sm=signs003.gif]

Rinehart true duals and SERT. You will get a few different opinions so you should search around.

www.Fuelmotousa.com for
[ol][*]RUSH 1.75 pipes; or 2.0 if you like LOUD[*]K&N 3909 AC;[*]PCIII (power commander) he will package all for pricing. [/ol]
All items are easy do it yourself. IDS from Harley. Everything including IDS should be less than $1,000.

I had the V&H Oval Slip-Ons and FuelPak on my '07 Road King and together with the SE Intake they were a perfect combination. The Ovals and FuelPak are matched perfectly. I don't think it matters much which air intake you use - I tried the combo with the K&N filter in stock housing and the SE Stage 1 Intake and had similar results. The Ovals were a bit too loud for me, but they delivered significant power and torque improvements and are of very high quality.

My combo of parts work very well together. Bike is running super. I really like the look and sound of the ovals. They definately get attention when you crank the throttle. Otherwise they are not too loud.

I have V&H slipon ovals on my 06 RK and I'm having problems with the baffles rattling. Contacted V&H who said the baffles were a bad design and for $81 each they would send me the new designed baffles. Right, I'll do just that.

Screaming Eagle 1 piece performance mufflers, SE a/c, and the Harley $149 download. Works perfect in every respect because the package was designed for your bike. No hit or miss involved, and everything can be bought from your local Harley dealer.

I could only tolerate the stock pipes on my '07 Road King Classic for the first 3,000 miles. Then added a SERT, Stage I kit with K&N cleaner and went with Rinehart True Duals (also added the IDS at the same time...WTF it's only money right?). In the end the dyno showed it added another 15 HP and the sound is great. Fell in love with her all over again!
