I like Shoei a lot! On whatever you decide to get try it on first and then buy online. Every brand fits different. I may feel really snug, as it should, when you first wear it then it will use up after a bit.

This store seems to have the biggest discounts. They have the discounted price online, but call them and get the quote and they will go even lower.

Good luck.

what's a modular helmet?
It is essentially a full face helmet with a chin bar that rotates up to make like a 3/4 helmet. The face shield also flips open with the chin bar is down.

My wife has a Shoi full-face and loves it ... I have the Nolan 102 which is great. But as mentioned previously, you need to try them on ... My Nolan is a "Large",my previous helmets were all "XL".

I'd guess the HD modular helmet is an HJC Symax. They make their other stuff. I too have noticed the buffeting while wearing a full-face helmet.
The "stealth flame"? If so, it's made by KBC. The real helmet manufacturer isnoted in the description for all of HD's helmets on their website.

My first helmet was a Bell Tourlite 3/4, best fitting helmet I ever had, next was HJC 3/4, smaller and lighter, but could never get the fit right and ended up throwing it in a closet. Then got a Z1R at the Harley shop, full face modular....great fit, but I have a hard time with full face for a long time, so I use it in bad weather. Finally got a KBC from J&M with their built in headset....had trouble with the fit at first, but spent several evenings working on the foam padding over the forehead (compressing it a little) and its comfortable now. I've tried both Arai and Shoei, but for my head the fit is terrible. My wife wears her Z1R modular all the time and loves it....keeps the wind out of her face. I may end up getting a headset put in my Z1R so when I do decide to go full-face the wife and I can still talk.....Its amazing the thousands of miles I've ridden without an intercom and giving it no thought, now that I have the 08 Ultra the intercom is one of nicer "little things" that I never knew I needed.
