Default Ape Hangers on a StreetGlide

Thinking of putting some ape's on my SG......how much of a pain in the *** is it what with having to change ALL the cables and wiring and such...anybody do a bar change that required changing everything?? Also wondering how much a dealer or indy might charge to do it if I don't want to take it on myself. Saw and sat on one with 16" on it and to me it looked cool and felt right......I'm NOT looking for comments on whether its a good idea or not so if its doesn't pertain to the question keep it to yourself. Thanks

I removed my drag bars from my '99 Sportster and had to change everything. The cables and brake lines were easy. The wiring was a pain but with patience it went ok. I bought the extensions from J&P which helped, but it still took a lot of time. It is certainly a change you can do your self.

Changing the bars to something taller is a PITA, but with patience, no problems. With 16's on a batwing, you are definitely going to change how the bike handles, and your arms in the air are going to change the dynamics of the air flow enough to perhaps cause a high speed wobble. The batwing is like pushing a piece of plywood down the road anyway. No comments about the looks, but IMO, it will adversely effect your handling.
