RE: 36 degrees and still riding how cold have you rode?
Couple years ago, had to drive 35 miles to work at 18* on the morning run.Mostly on the hi-way. It was pretty cold, that was before having much cold riding gear too.
If the temp is 45* I figure its close or below 32* when at 55mph so I won't go out.

I ride year round in New Hampshire. The key is maintaining body temp and avoiding ice and snow. If the roads are clear of snow I ride.I run a Gerbings heated jacket liner and heated gloves. At a 20 degree air temp I am very comfortable. I have ridden on a 5 degree day but the bike was not happy.

Lowest has been about 15 degrees for 15 miles. Had balaclava and leather jacket, but only jeans. Had good gloves, but heated would've been better. I plan to commute this Winter as long as roads are dry and not salty. Sure wish I had some Gerbings.
BTW, choochoo, read your post above. Riding at -20F? You are one crazy SOB! [sm=hail.gif]
