Default Need SG help - XM Radio Question

I just added an 06 SG to my growing collection. This is the first bike I've owned with a radio. The previous owner told me it was XM satellite radio compatible, but he never added it. Is this true? If so, how do I go about activating it?
Thanks.

Now this area I'm not an expert, but I think itr's an addional module and then you just pay your monthly.
I think the kit come was a xm radio ant? Call your dealer for the price. Since it's a factor radio I believe you have to go through them....If I'm wrong, I'm sure you'll see additional post. Think I'm going to look into also.

Factory HD XM is a high dollar deal. Check the price in the big HD book or online.

I just added a Roady XM radio reciever in my saddle bag and wired it into the ACC. switch. Put the antenna under the fairing. Much cheaper.

Ride Safe,

Mike

"Compatible" simply means you can add XM and get the XM info on the screen, control station selection, volume, etc. through your headunit. To "activate" you need to purchase the HDXM accessory for the Harmon Kardon radio: HD part no. 76404-06; list price $499.95.

Thanks - I do believe I'll take the plunge - in for a penny, in for a pound.

Then git it from Zanotti's....

It's 420 bucks from them.

$420 at Zanottis. Easy install. For me, it was worth the extra few bucks to operate it using stack radio controls andhave my bars free of mounts. Don't forget to get the required harness.

My '06 came with a free three month subscription to the radio once installed and activated, but don't know if that would apply to a used bike. I figured a stack of cd's would be much cheaper!

Buy a portable one for $40- and mount it to the handle bars. Mount the antenna under the fairing.
Run your audio through the aux. Will sound just as good as stock.
