Thanks SOOS - now I know where to go in 2008.
JUST CONFIRMED THE 2009 RALLY:
Fox Cities lands 2009 state Harley rally
Gannett Wisconsin Newspapers
GRAND CHUTE / APPLETON— The Wisconsin Harley-Davidson Owners Group (H.O.G.) will roar into the Fox Cities for its annual rally in 2009.
Green Bay hosted the state H.O.G. rally in 2006, drawing more than 5,500 people.
The Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau has a verbal commitment for the 2009 event, scheduled for June 19-21. It estimates the event will attract 5,000 visitors and the economic impact will be almost $750,000.
“The H.O.G. Rally is one of the signature events in Wisconsin and we’re pleased that the membership recognized the value, quality of venues and availability of scenic rides in the Fox Cities,” said Mark Rohloff, Grand Chute administrator. “We look forward to having the group in our area.”
“We are absolutely thrilled to have the H.O.G. Rally come to the Fox Cities for the first time,” said Mae Ibe, the bureau’s director of convention sales. “This is a wonderful piece of business that will bring significant economic impact to the Fox Cities.”
Fox Valley Technical College in Grand Chute will serve as the rally’s main location.
The 2008 rally will be June 13-15 in Baraboo. This year's rally was in Racine.
Harley-Davidson, based in Milwaukee, established the H.O.G in 1983. By 1985, there were 49 local chapters around the country, with a total membership of 60,000. Today, more than 1 million members make H.O.G. the largest factory-sponsored motorcycle organization in the world. There are 34 chapters in Wisconsin.
