Default 07 FLHTCUSE2 Slip On's on 07 FLHTCU

I'd like a bit more rumble. Picked up take offs and planning to install on my stock 96". In the end, I'm also trying to get rid of some of the mid-frame area heat. Recommendations on FI system - what should I plan on doing?

The pipes won't help the heat problem unless you go to tru-duals, and richen up the mixture some. HD has heat deflectors that keep some of the heat off your thigh, have them on my 08 SE3, seem to do an OK job.

I bought a set of take-off '07 CVO Ultra mufflers that you referenced and stuck them on an '06 Ultra with a 95" build that I had. The FLHTCUSE mufflers are catalytic and hurt the performance as felt in riding and verified on a dyno. The dyno tuner said they had too much back pressure. . . but they were very quiet if that's what you are looking for..

Thanks for the info. They are quieter than I expected. Thought that coming off of a 110" motor I'd get more breathing due to the 15% difference in displacement.

I put the HD heat shields on last summer which helped.

An article referenced on the forum stated going to a straight dual system (a la the Rinehart "True Duals") would hurt low rpm performance but I guess you can't have both.

Your thinking was the same as mine, WJP. I figured that the larger engine needed to breath better but the CVO mufflers didn't work out on my '06 95" build. I still have the mufflers, however, just in case emissions testing of bikes happens where I live.

I had V&H duals on my '06 Ultra before I went back to the stock headers. Most people report a little loss of low end torque but better higher RPM performance with duals. The problem with changing out two or three things at once (AC, mufflers, Duals, etc) is that you don't know which help and which hurt the performance in the RPM range you are looking for. On an Ultra I want low and mid-RPM performance in the form of higher torque assuming HP is not hurt in the process.

Me too. That's why I'm really liking the idea of the new Bub 7's with a true crossover.
