It has been 2 years since I installed mine but if memory serves me right I think it is a rechargeable 9 volt and is recharged while you ride. Battery still can go bad over time but like I said, mine is 2 + years old and still going.

I to like to park outside my window at motels so it can be heard by me. And I WILL react accordingly and I am licensed to do so.

Ride Safe,

Mike
That is exactly why I bought mine today along with the Pager II. Installing it tomorrow evening.

I like the guy in this forum that said he got the whole package ... Smart Siren II, and the pager, that way when his bike is getting stolen he can go out and get the **** kicked out of him too.... lol, I bought the whole package too - and found a guy on ebay that sells japanese cells for the pager.. 10 for $10.

Its a nice piece of mind in a hotel having the SSII with pager. I do need to stock up on pager batteries.

My Pager has a rechargeable battery as does the SSII. The SSII battery is recharged when the bike is operated. My pager plugs into the charger I can take on trips. The battery life on the pagerhas aclaimed 8 days with a 2 day reserve after low battery indicator turns on.
Turn it off when not in use and it shouldextend the operational window.
I have not used it yet, but the alarm chirps 2 times when the bike is shut down to notifyof the passiveactivation function.. I have tested it. It has avery irritating sound..And yes...No one will care---Except you...That`s the point...

Great when parking for a over-nighter in a Hotel\Motel (rechargable battery) - Pager works also... But the battery life with it is VERY SHORT!! Always need to carry a FEW extra's on a road-trip
Yep.REAL short. I'm thinking about replacing my 1st gen pager with the new rechargeable one thinkingit can be left turned on overnight while it's in the recharging cradle. Anyone know if that would work?

A few hours only - not enough time to go for a weekend with thisnon-rechargeable version:

I'm thinking of getting this newer one to replace the above type:

Mine has been on the bike for over three years with no problems. When I use the pager I need to change the batteries quite often, I'm also looking at the rechargeable unit. The pager is nice to have at a motel and a few other places but the siren is useless.
