Default Zumo 550 handler bar location '07RG

Just received Zumo 550. Suggestions on best handlebar placement on 2007 RG. Seems like less vibration if placed further down the handlebar instead of closer to grips. Concerned about blocking gauges.

Also is there much involved in snaking power cable to accessory plu under seat. Is the accessory plug obvious or will I have to dig for it. I do have the manual.

Thanks

Ask philm or PM him, he's always glad to help, he hasa Zumo 550on his Road Glide down near the middle of his bar's using one of my mounts and the 2 hole oval plate I think. Heres a picture of his that all black one and Buttman's Roady both are using my mount's with Zumo 550's.

Yes.. I have a BobbyMount for my Zumo and i tmounts immediately to the left of the speedo/tach cover ~ right on the bottom @ the center.

I have full view of all the guages w/o obstruction.

I wired mine to the back of the cigarette lighter, in the fairing, but only bacause I already had the outer fairing off. Wires can easily be fished under the tank along the backbone of the frame. Any switched 12v source is fine. The accessory plug is under the seat, if you wanna use it. I would suggest you get the other end of the accessory plug and insert the power leads into the appropriate pin locations, then you can just plug it in there w/o having to jack with the fuse boxes.

I have my Zumo mounted using their mount on the grips - it works great - I can see it just fine - doesn't block anything and I had the elctrical permanently connected inside the fairing when I had some work done when the fairing was off. I am really happy with the whole thing...........Why make it hard and spend more money??
