VERY Lowest "RUMBLE" Pipes? UPDATED w/more pipes now. 12/14/05
What has the lowest, deepest, resonating, base hitting note of the pipes listed? Keep in mind that LOUD is not the issue, LOW Rumble Note is.
Thank you all for looking and or participation,
(edited) Ok, I'm getting smarter, added more pipes to vote on for better selection and poll

RE: VERY Lowest "RUMBLE" Pipes?
Gary,
You have the same taste I do. I like deep, "basso profundo" pipes. The answer will vary with which model Harley you're riding. I see by your signature that your riding a bagger, which is what I've always ridden. For baggers, the Hooker tuned flow slip-ons have the deepest sound I've found. They sound awesome. I've listened to every muffler I could at various biker hangouts over the years, paying particular attention to the touring rigs. I've heard Screaming Eagle (high, wimpy "tinny" sound), Samsons (a little better, but still "tinny"), Vance & Hines (nice), Rineharts (nice), Bubs (somewhere between Samsons and Vance & Hines) and the Hookers to name just a few. The Hookers are DEEP, very powerful sounding mufflers, much deeper than any of the aforementioned mufflers. However, they are also loud. They have adjustable baffles which makes quite a difference in the Db level. They can be adjusted anywhere from loud to LOUD. But as for bass, they are way down low - much lower than even Rineharts. It's always fun to watch the heads turn when I pull into a biker hangout. I've been asked many times what kind of exhaust I'm running. But like I said, they are loud.
Being out west here in California, I haven't had a chance to hear Rush slip-ons. For whatever reason, Rush does not have a strong marketing presence out here. I've just ordered a set from M&M cycles so I can make a comparison. I love the deep sound of my Hookers, but after a full day of riding my ears are ringing. I'm hoping that the Rush mufflers will sound as deep and powerful as the Hookers, but at a lower Db level. I'll know in about a week. Anyway, just my 2 cents worth. Your post attracted me because you described exactly what I'm looking for - deep, powerful sound without excessive volume. May not be possible - I'm not sure.
