I've tried the site search function and google with no success. I've got my 08 FLHRC on order and I want to compare the V&Hduals with the Rinehart TDs. Anybody have a sound byte of the Rineharts? I can't find one here or through google.

Caution... I switched from Rinehart TD to V&H Big Shot TD because the Rineharts chirped so badly on my 2007 RKC. I understand that the Rinehart chirp is not uncommon.

 

Rineharts will be Deeper & Louder...
Get out to a M\C event or to the Dealer on a Saturday Morning and listen... Sound Bytes really don't work that well...

 

That's funny. My Rineharts don't chirp at all but my buddy's VH ovals chirp like crazy.

 

Go to Youtube and do a search for Rinehart. Several video clips of people showing off their Rinehart pipes.

 

Please explain "Chirping" What else does this sound like? When does it occur, at idle, acceleration, deceleration.

 

Chirping sounds like a high pitched squeek. It is caused by Rinehart design baffles on some bikes. It occurs during acceleration, or even revving the engine while stopped. It usually is not noticable on blacktops or rough concrete. Most noticable on smooth concrete. It's a mystery why some bikes will chirp and some won't. Mine was so bad with Rinehart True Duals that I had to get rid of them. Others have had no problem. Others just put up with it. You can Google "Rinehart and chirping" and find several threads on the subject. Some people say that they have experienced chirping with other brands of exhaust. I have no knowledge of those. However, I replaced my Rineharts with V&H Big Shot true duals and the chirping was eliminated. What a relief it was!
