Amen to Rhinohd. My wife and I lost one a few years back (not ride related) and it still hurts. A few months without the wife riding is a small price to pay for both a healthy baby and her peace of mind.

I've been married 19 years, and my wife has never ridden with me since the kids were born. Now they are almost grown and she finally feels ok about riding. You can't overcome the maternal instinct, so enjoy your ride, and when she is ready again she'll let you know.

take this over to the off topic forum and get Snarly to comment on it. Guaranteed to be something to remember.

Congrats on the baby!
You know what Mike, I used to take the xwife out for a ride when she was pregnant, but I finely gave up on that ploy, she always found her way back.

My firstborn was 8 weeks old last Thu. My wife loves to ride, but she did not ride for the entire 9 months she was pregnant...Both she and the doctor thought it was best. just like you, when she was 4 months pregnant, I got a Road King (rid of the Sporty), which we both had been wanting, but she did not ride, even though she wanted to badly. She was able to take her first ride on Dec. 3, 6 weeks after having the baby and it was great. The decision to ride while pregnant will be up to you guys as a family, taking into account your doctor's advice which I wouldn't go against (we didn't). It sucks riding alone for 9 months when you are used to having the wife behind you, but you will get used to it. Moreover, it will all be worth it when you have an awesome baby biker born into the family.

Or you coulda waited until the baby turned 24 like mine did and then gotten the new ride. Now there should be no excuses for her not to ride.

Wife and I had 5 (all complicated) miscarages so go ride solo until shes ready, believe me its not worth the risk(physically and mentally and could ruin your marriage)
