RE: Can you make VH ovals quieter?
On a loudness scale of 1-10 with 10 being the loudest, I would give them a 6 or 7. They're no where near the volume ofthe StraightShots I have on my Dyna (about 8 or 9) or the dudes true duals with the shark fin extensions down the street (9+)!!! JMHO...

Some rewrap the baffels with thicker-grade wise. I am presently adding a small length of baffels to the end of the existing baffels and wraping it also. I have the basic slip on's which are not as loud but not much difference. As you get age they get louder. When I twist the wick they are too loud for me. Taking it easy not to bad. I heard a set that was done this way I am doing and they made the exhaust a little tamer but added a deep rumble and took out the real loud bark when you twist the wick.

I had a set of v and h ovals and true duals on my 05 ultra and they were about a 6 out of 10. I had to crank the radio up at highway speeds though.
I'm considering a set of Rhinehardt duals on my 08 Ultra though. From what I have heard the Rhinehardts are louder so its up in the air on the decision.
