Hey bro... I trust you. Don't get me wrong. I told you that I would forward the responses of Jamie, which is what I did.

I just sent off that other question to Jamie: "Does the AFV reset between engine-running sessions or not?"

I will let you know when I hear back from him.

As for running a couple of tanks of gas, then switching, and then switching back again... trust me, I don't have the time to do that. Any by "time", I mean I won't have enough riding time left in this year... some snow on the ground this morning when I got up. Hopefully it will be decent this weekend, so I can get the bike out again...

I have the Python slip-on with V&H true duals and modified the baffels on my 05 king. You can remove baffles but you will loose performance. I'm still not satisfied and like you want it abit louder. Thinking about the V&H Big shot duals???? I also have V&H Straight shots on my Low Rider and they do kick ***.That's why I'm leaning toward the Big Shots.

Glens... I got a response to thatquestion you mentioned...

Here is my message to Fuelmoto:
-----------
Another question for you...

Does the AFV reset between engine-running sessions or not?

Also, received the PCIII in the mail this evening... will attempt to install
over the next day or so. Please get back to me regarding that question.
Cheers!

And here is the reply that I received today...

-----------
The AFV does not reset between sessions, however it
has only a very small window of adjustment and this is
only in the area that is affected by closed loop.
Because of the small relative adaptive change the ECM
makes you do not need to reset the AFV. Our info is
based on the over 150+ 2007 bikes we have tested/tuned
in house and have sold a very high quantity of Power
Commanders.

I prefer the Vance & Hines Turndowns, but there is no question that the Rineharts are louder and great quality...........but get the billet tips

I replied already in the ECM-or-whatever forum.

https://www.hdforums.com/m_2412473/m...tm.htm#2413142

In just testing the link, I see I forgot to address the "only in closed-loop" bit they had to say. That's not true. The AFV works everywhere according to my sources of information. If it didn't what would be the point, and how would the necessary corrections be made in the open-loop areas of operation?

Here's something you may want to consider (but probably won't :P):

On a touring bike you are hopefully going to be doing some touring. Now I'm sure there will be people that tell you they have upswept fishtails directed in their faces on a touring bike and put on 800 miles a day ... good for them, but you get tired faster when you listen to loud pipes for a few hundred miles. I have either Wild Pigs (personal favorite) or SE muffs on my bike because it's a uniform thing with the drill team, but I'd personally prefer stock pipes for trips. I've tried ear plugs but those interfere with the communications so it's a definite disadvantage.

If you are dead set on loud pipes, may I recommend that you either get straight cut or slash-up tips? Slash-downs (and sometimes turnouts) reflect the sound back up at you and definitely work on your ears after a short amount of time.
I agree... Excessive (yes, excessive!!) noise can bring on fatigue as fast as any physical activity, riding without a 'shield, being uncomfortable or being too hot/cold. You should *seriously* put some thought into this "decision".

In short, if you want to scream "look at me I'm so cool", at least be smart and put some thought into it.

Haha! At this point the thought being put into it is "I sure do like the sound of those mufflers I've purchased and installed."
