I like the leather if it is going on a Classic, but I would want some way to lock it. My first choice on anything would be the chopped, color matched pac, with the lighted spoiler. They look awesome on any bike.
I have a chopped tour pac that has leather cover(bra) for the top 1/2. I really like the look.My camera took a dump on me last week. I am going to buy a new one today(I hope).
I have a detachable leather tourpac on my 2003 Classic. It matches the bags. I searched around for the old style mount to match the saddlebag rails.I think it looks the best. Locking wasn't a concern.
I was following a RG the other day with a leather tour pak, just looked wrong to me. A RKC with a hard tour pak is also wrong, IMHO. The leather pak looks great with the leather bags on a classic. Mix it up and it just looks that...mixed up. Match it up and it looks....matched.
I'm curiousif the full "hard" tourpak interferes with opening/closing the lids of the Classic's leather wrapped saddlebags. The Classic wrapped saddlebags open differently than the hard saddlebags and wonder if they are designed that way to avoid interference with the hard tourpak, which is wider than the leather wrapped Classic tourpak. Or conversely, is the Classic tourpak designed not as wide / smaller than the hard tourpak to avoid interference with operating the leather wrapped saddlebags?!?
Roadkingbill, I have full leather tour pack and saddle bags, been thinking about going with the King Tour Pack and the hard bags, color matched of course. Your set up looks better than I imagined with the leather bags. Now ya got me thinking.
